It is obvious that 3D movies are practically a norm in America and in numerous countries around the world. Some people may even argue that 3D technology is now “played out.” It is for this reason that “4DX” technology is entering the market. Although previously present in some amusement parks for different show experience, this may soon become an obtainable practicality.
WHAT IS 4DX
4D technology is as expected, taking it up a level in the audience animatic experience from 3D. It enhances the stimulation of the human senses to fully draw you into a movie. 4D movie theaters include high-technology motion seats that move in conjunction with action movements happening on the big screen. What does this mean? Think wind, fog, lighting and even particular scents to name a few options.
HOW DO THE EFFECTS WORK
The technology behind 4DX effects is concentrated in motion seats. The seats are equipped with motion simulators and programmed for three basic movements:
1) Heave- Vertical movement (up and down)
2) Roll- Tilting sideways
3) Pitch- Rocking of the seats frontward and backward
Additional technology involves environmental effects as previously mentioned. These can range from wind effects to bubbles to lights and even fade mists.
4D movie theaters are soon to start popping up in US Cities.
